Extended (before & after) school provision
There are a number of organisations in the local area offering a wide variety of childcare options.
Junior Adventures Group (JAG) occupy a full-time base at the school and are therefore the organisation with which we work most closely – offering a breakfast and after school provision to pupils in Nursery through to Year 6, lunchtime playground supervision and additional class based support as and when required. We are lucky to benefit from a close-knit and well-managed team at Barnes who strive to deliver a provision that is accessible, age appropriate, enjoyable and safe.
JAG’s before and after school clubs are powered by the Adventure Programme, with their Rise then Shine (breakfast) clubs being the perfect start to the school day, and fun continuing after school during Stay and Play (after school) clubs. The Adventure Programme consists of seven action-packed adventure categories, designed with child development research in mind. Created in partnership with experts, the programme offers children the chance to learn essential life skills while having fun exploring their interests. These categories are: Super Sports, Wellbeing Warriors, Flavour Fest, Creative Inventors, Global Kids, Power Teams and Brain Boosters. As well as this, a nutritious breakfast is available at Rise then Shine as well as a selection of snacks to fuel them in the afternoon before heading home for dinner.
Any organisation wishing to offer an extended provision must be Ofsted registered and subject to regular inspection. Those organisations will accept Childcare Vouchers and have a framework in place to support families who are claiming Child Tax Credits – and potentially other means-tested benefits.
