Christmas Carol Concert 2018
We can’t remember seeing St Michael’s Church as packed full as it was on Tuesday 18th December, and again on Wednesday 19th December 2018. Not only was there not a seat left in the church, standing room was also at a premium. With Year 3 taking a lead role, focusing on Christmas time in the Victorian era and the influence of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ on the evolution of the Christmas celebration, the children certainly didn’t let those who had come to watch down. Here is Winter Carol, a beautiful carol sung by our school choir.
Our Year 1 and Year 2 children sang their hearts out to Away in a Manger.
Here is a musical take on the key messages from the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, performed by the sixty children of Year 3.
Finally a choral rendition of a Christmas poem, written by Imogen, one of our Year 3 pupils.
Our 2017 Christmas carol Concert
Two majestic, utterly memorable carol concerts were performed at St. Michael’s Church in Barnes on Tuesday 12th December and Wednesday 13th December 2017. The first carol pupils perform is The Holly and the Ivy. The harmonies Karen Warner, our music teacher, guides the pupils to create are simply gorgeous.
Next we have a performance of Together at Christmas by Key Stage 2 pupils.
Here’s Year 3 reciting an exert from the Dr. Seus poem, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
Christmas Carol Concert 2016
What concerts! Those who were lucky enough to attend on Tuesday 13th December 2016 or Wednesday 14th December 2016 were lucky people indeed! The singing was majestic; simply divine. First up is Mary’s Boy Child. Bony M were never this good!
The next film is of the children singing Torches in a round.
A poetry recital of Advent 1955 by John Betjeman
Christmas carol Concert 2015
In 2015 the Christmas Carol Concert was equally good. Here is Silent Night sung in French.
