Meet the Teachers


Claire Marshment graduated in 2005 with a Primary Education degree, specialising in Design and Technology, from Roehampton University. She spent a year working in a school in Newbury and then moved to Barnes in 2006, where she has worked in both Years 2 and 3.  This year, 2016-17, will be the sevenh year that she has taught Year 2. Claire leads on design technology and took a lead role in preparing our successful submission for the award of the Design Mark. Claire has been involved in a national innovation group for the teaching of design technology in schools. From 2013-14 she has led on developing the quality of mathematics provision for Key Stage 1 pupils and enabling parents to support their children’s mathematical learning at home. She has also played a lead role in extending opportunities for food technology across the school.

Sally B

Sally Will (nee Bagnall) teaches 2W. Sally graduated from Warwick University with a first class degree in Accounting and Finance. She subsequently went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, before spending two years at Pearson Education as a business analyst. After five successful years in accountancy she decided that she wanted to teach. We’re pleased she did! Sally completed a schools direct initial teacher training course in 2014-15 and then joined Barnes at the start of the 2015-16 academic year. She taught a Year 3 class in her first year of teaching and is now  keen to teach a Year 2 class in her second year.
