Barnes Primary School was founded in 1903. The building of a new site was completed a hundred years later, in 2003. At that time both buildings were thoroughly modernised. Currently there are 443 full time pupils organised into 15 classes. A further 78 pupils attend a nursery class on a part time basis, for three hours each day. Over sixty members of staff work at the school. They are all are committed to supporting the needs of every child.
We promote the skills children require to be lifelong learners and we aim to prepare them to be successful and happy now, as children, and in their future life and work in the twenty-first century. Our objective is to serve our school community to the best of our ability. In doing so we will draw upon the richness and uniqueness of our local area. We are also committed to promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our children and ensuring equality of opportunity for all. We value our children, their families and the dedicated staff team who support them. We are committed to inclusivity and actively celebrate the diverse backgrounds of all members of our community. This is a positive and happy place to be. We are all here to learn and have fun together.
We believe that the highest quality educational provision should be offered to everyone within our learning community. At our school we emphasise the three Ls:
Learning, Love and Laughter
We have extensive extended school provision at Barnes Primary. Wraparound care is available. There is an early morning Breakfast Club from 7.45am – 9.00 am and after school care from 3.15 pm-6.15 pm. This is offered by Fit For Sport. In addition to this there is an extensive range of exciting after-school activities for children to participate in.
